Former Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Kim Kyung-soo recently expressed a strong stance regarding the controversy surrounding the Constitutional Court through social media.
He emphasized, "The attacks from the rebellion and far-right forces, which even include People Power Party, are going too far," and stated, "We must protect the Constitutional Court." He particularly pointed out a People Power Party lawmaker's call to "destroy the Constitutional Court," claiming it poses a serious threat to democracy.
On the sixth day of his hunger strike, on the 14th, he wrote on his social media, "Let's all gather at Gwanghwamun tomorrow (the 15th) to show that democracy in the Republic of Korea is alive. Let's turn Gwanghwamun Square into a square of democracy and victory."

He explained that he used to dissuade people from carrying out hunger strikes around him since he started in politics, but now it has become a country that even forces people to go on hunger strikes.
He expressed concern that the current situation is entirely different from the past, warning that the result of a regression in history would be passed on to future generations.
Former Mayor Kim mentioned that the permanent representative body of "Yoon Seok-yeol's Immediate Resignation and Social Reform Emergency Action," composed of civic groups, has started a hunger strike at Gwanghwamun, and he also joined from the next day. He added that lawmakers from the Democratic Party and other opposition parties have joined as well, and the number of citizens participating in solidarity hunger strikes is gradually increasing.
He stressed the need for the unified force of the people to ensure that the Constitutional Court judges can render judgments based on truth and conscience. He also appealed, "Let’s make Gwanghwamun Square a square of victory and once again prove that democracy in the Republic of Korea is a history that the people have protected."
