American actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her role in the U.S. drama "Gossip Girl," has died at the age of 39.

According to reports from ABC News and others on the 26th (local time), Trachtenberg was found dead in an apartment in New York at 8 a.m. Her mother discovered her body, and there were no signs of homicide. It is known that Trachtenberg underwent a liver transplant last year, raising the possibility of complications from the surgery.

Trachtenberg was a New York native and began her career as a child actor in 1991. She notably played the villain Georgina Sparks in "Gossip Girl" from 2008 to 2012.
