K-content has topped the non-English category on Netflix for two consecutive years. On the morning of the 27th, Netflix released its viewership report. It contains data on content loved by global members in the second half of last year. K-content ranked first in non-English content views from 2023 to 2024.

The viewership report is an indicator of Netflix members' viewing habits. It discloses viewing hours and view counts of all production and licensed works watched for at least 50,000 hours semi-annually. Calculation (View count = Total viewing hours divided by total running time / rounded to the nearest 100,000)

Non-English content has shown remarkable performance. Productions from countries like Korea, Japan, France, Colombia, and Brazil accounted for one-third of the total view count. Netflix's philosophy of emphasizing local creators' capabilities in each country proved effective.

In the second half of last year, Netflix's total viewing hours reached 94 billion, a 5% increase from the same period the previous year. Among these, K-content, including domestic series, movies, and entertainment, excelled in various genres.

Actor Lee Jung-jae's starring project, "Squid Game" Season 2, stood out. Despite being released just six days before the year's end, it recorded approximately 87 million views, making it the most-watched series in the second half.

Movies such as "The Dance Hall Master" (40 million), "War; Chaos" (24 million), and "The Cross" (23 million) showed significant viewership. Dramas like "Mom's Friend's Son" (20 million) and "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class Warfare" (17 million) were well-received.

Netflix stated, "K-content has ranked first in viewership among non-English content for two consecutive years," and added, "We will continue to challenge new genres and themes and strive for global expansion with various partners."
