Singer and composer Beomju won the grand prize at the 'KOMCA Copyright Awards' for the second consecutive year, sweeping all categories in the popular field and proving himself as South Korea's top producer.
The Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) announced on the 25th that "Beomju won the grand prize in all categories of popular lyrics, composition, and arrangement at the '11th KOMCA Copyright Awards' ceremony."
The 'KOMCA Copyright Awards' is the only copyright awards ceremony in the country, awarding lyricists, composers, and arrangers with the highest music copyright revenue from the previous year.
Beomju made history by sweeping the grand prize in all categories (lyrics, composition, arrangement). He won in the lyrics and composition categories for the second year in a row, and this year added the grand prize in the arrangement category as well.
This achievement was not surprising given Beomju's outstanding performance in 2024. He contributed to hit songs by Seventeen, Baekho, fromis_9, and TOUS, taking charts by storm.
KOMCA evaluated Beomju as leading the trend in popular music. A representative acknowledged, "Beomju has contributed to establishing the identity of K-pop."
Beomju expressed his gratitude to "many people who love K-pop" and extended his respect to "all the senior and junior colleagues involved in creation."
Meanwhile, Beomju debuted in 2011 with the single 'Oh My Girl.' He subsequently gained love from listeners with songs like '28.5', 'Good Life', 'Grievous Not', 'Alive', '99%', and 'Unbothered'.
Simultaneously, he has been active as a producer under 'Pledis Entertainment.' Since 2015, he has demonstrated his musical prowess by creating most of Seventeen’s hit songs with Woozi.
