
Actor and voice actor Jang Mi-ja has passed away at the age of 84. Jang Mi-ja was known for her performance as a mother-in-law in the drama "Couple Clinic: Love and War."
According to the Korean Broadcasting Actors Union on the 27th, she passed away due to illness. Her husband, voice actor and actor Park Woong, along with their two sons, are receiving condolences at the mortuary.
She began her acting career in theater in 1959 and joined DBS Dong-A Broadcasting as a first-generation voice actor in 1963. Due to media consolidations, this group is now classified as the sixth-generation voice actors of KBS.
Over 66 years, she appeared in numerous works, winning the love of the public. She was featured in dramas like "The Second Republic," "Love and War," "Crisis Men," "My Too Perfect Sons," "The Light in Your Eyes," and "King the Land."
She was also a member of the Theater Actors Association and led the theater company "Samgaksan." She gave impressive performances in plays such as "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "Drying Red Peppers," "On Golden Pond," and "In the Time of Humans."
Jang Mi-ja also shared the stage with her husband Park Woong in productions like "Living on Golden Pond" and "Dancing Silver Portrait," showcasing their seasoned acting ensemble.
Meanwhile, her mortuary is set up at Room 4 of the Seoul National University Hospital funeral hall. Her funeral will be held on the 29th at 6 a.m., and she will be laid to rest at Seoul Municipal Crematorium.
