Director Park Chan-wook, actors Lee Byung-hun, and Son Ye-jin have united in a single project. The film "No Way Out" (directed by Park Chan-wook) announced the conclusion of its filming on the 21st. A representative stated that "the five-month shoot was completed on the 15th."
"No Way Out" is a suspense thriller. It tells the story of a laid-off office worker who attempts to get rehired to protect his family and home. The film gained attention since its planning stage, largely because it is a new work by Director Park Chan-wook. He reunites with Lee Byung-hun for the first time since "Joint Security Area" and "Three… Extremes."
Son Ye-jin has been cast as Lee Byung-hun's wife. This marks her first collaboration with both Director Park and Lee Byung-hun. It is also her comeback project after a hiatus for parenting.
In addition, other prominent actors from Chungmuro are part of the cast. Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, Cha Seung-won, and Yoo Yeon-seok play characters involved in the layoff crisis.
With the filming complete, the first stills were unveiled. Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin portray the characters Mansoo and Miri, respectively. Their performance of dancing together raises expectations for the film.
Director Park Chan-wook expressed, "I started writing the script about 17 years ago. It is deeply rewarding to have finished shooting a project I most wanted to create." He continued, "I'm relieved it ended successfully as planned. I aim to work hard on the post-production to make a film that everyone involved will feel proud of."
Lee Byung-hun stated, "While I always feel eager to see the finished work of any project I'm part of, this time I'm more excited than ever. My expectations are high."
Son Ye-jin also shared, "Observing the process made me believe every moment that an extraordinary film is in the making. I am eager to showcase it to the audience soon."
Meanwhile, "No Way Out" is an adaptation of the novel "The Ax." It is scheduled for release after completing post-production.
