Actor Oh Jung-se navigated between anger and resignation, enhancing immersion through a range of emotional shifts. Oh Jung-se is currently appearing in tvN's "Ask the Stars" (written by Seo Sook-hyang, directed by Park Shin-woo), portraying the role of a space scientist named Kang Kang-soo, adding tension to the space station.
In the episodes aired on the 18th and 19th, he clashed with every character on the space station. He seized a fertilized egg delivered by Gong Ryong (played by Lee Min-ho) and proceeded with artificial insemination. He succeeded in developing this egg to the 'morula' stage, but soon faced a crisis when Commander Eve (played by Gong Hyo-jin) discovered it.
Oh Jung-se's subtle psychological acting stood out. To protect the fertilized egg, he lied that he used experimental eggs and sperm from Santee (played by Alex Hafner). He also defended the forbidden experiment, to the shock of his colleagues. Kang-soo shouted, "Aren't you all curious?" escalating the tension.
Despite his excuses, his astronaut status was revoked. Oh Jung-se depicted the proud Kang-soo gritting his teeth to apologize, leaving audiences curious about the subsequent developments. His antagonistic chemistry added to the drama's entertainment, with his sharp speech and straightforward manner leaving a strong impression.
The agency said, "Oh Jung-se is completing the work with dense visuals and character assimilation. Please look forward to Kang-soo's future activities."
Meanwhile, "Ask the Stars" follows the life of Eve and Gong Ryong outside Earth, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM.
