Singer Kwon Jin-won expressed bewilderment regarding the use of "Happy Birthday to You" as a tribute song for President Yoon Seok-yeol.
On the 17th, Kwon expressed his dismay on social media, stating, "How could a love song for couples spending a happy birthday with just a single rose and a book of poetry be rewritten in this way?"
He also attached a screenshot from the 'SBS 8 News' YouTube channel. Referring to the rewriting of 'Happy Birthday to You' as the 'Song of Praise for Yoon', he commented, "This is truly bewildering."
SBS reported on the previous day, the 16th, that the Presidential Security Service held a birthday party for President Yoon during the event celebrating their 60th anniversary. The lyrics of 'Happy Birthday to You' were changed and performed.
The altered lyrics reportedly included content such as, "Let's all celebrate this significant day when the president, sent by the heavens for a new Korea, was born."
