The film 'The Hostage' (directed by Min Kyu-dong) has been invited to the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. The Berlinale Executive Committee announced on the 17th (Korean time), "Director Min Kyu-dong's 'The Hostage' has been invited to the Berlinale Special section."

The Berlinale Special section showcases fresh and creative works. Last year, 'Crime City 4' (directed by Heo Myeong-hang) was invited to the same section.

Director Min, following 'Antique,' has been invited for the second time. 'The Hostage' will be presented for the first time to audiences worldwide at the Berlin Film Festival.

'The Hostage' is based on the novel of the same name. It depicts a bloody showdown between Jo Gak (played by Lee Hye-young), a legendary killer from 'Sacred Defense,' and the mysterious killer Too Woo (played by Kim Sung-cheol), who pursues her.

Lee Hye-young takes on the role of Jo Gak, a killer in her 60s who has been dealing with cockroach-like humans for 40 years. Kim Sung-cheol plays the role of Too Woo, showcasing a unique charm.

That's not all. The film features a lineup of actors such as Yeon Woo-jin, Kim Moo-yeol, and Shin Si-ah, known for their performances on screen. Together, they blend captivating action with delicate emotional lines.

Meanwhile, the 75th Berlin International Film Festival will be held from the 13th to the 23rd of next month.
