MBC has donated a portion of the profits from its popular programs to vulnerable groups and educational institutions. On the morning of the 8th at 10:30 AM, MBC held a ‘2024 Donation Ceremony’ at the MBC headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu.

MBC President Ahn Hyung-jun and Entertainment Division Head Jeon Jin-su were in attendance. Representatives from 11 social welfare organizations were also present, including Community Chest of Korea, Eastern Social Welfare Society, Miral Welfare Foundation, Snail of Love, Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, and Severance Children’s Hospital.

The donation totals 580 million won, and it was gathered from donations by MBC’s headquarters and affiliates, voluntary participation in paycheck rounding by employees, and additional revenue from popular programs such as ‘I Live Alone’ and ‘Hangout with Yoo.’ President Ahn Hyung-jun noted, “The voluntary participation of employees and the profits from programs loved by our viewers have come together to create meaningful donations.”

He further expressed, “Social welfare organizations act as a firm support, shedding light on the darker parts of our society and delivering hope to neighbors in need. We will continue to strive for the spread of a sharing culture.”

He concluded, “We aim to produce programs that embody the value of sharing with our viewers and will do our utmost to be a bridge connecting those in need with your help.”

In addition to social welfare organizations, MBC also donated to schools and sports organizations, including Iwon Elementary School, Incheon Physical Education High School, Yecheon County Scholarship Association, Noam Elementary School, Inil Girls’ High School, Suncheon Seongnam Elementary School, and the Korea Association of Athletics Federations Dream Team.

Meanwhile, every year, MBC donates a portion of the profits from popular programs, alongside employee participation in paycheck rounding and company matching funds, to vulnerable groups and educational institutions in the local community.
