Actor Kim Nam-gil reveals a sharp visage. The film ‘Broken’ (directed by Kim Jin-hwang) released character stills of Kim Nam-gil on the 8th. Kim Nam-gil transforms into ‘Horyeong,’ a bestselling author who writes a novel predicting deaths.
‘Broken’ is a story about Min-tae’s (played by Ha Jung-woo) furious pursuit of truth regarding his brother’s return as a corpse, his missing wife, and a bestselling novel that foresaw the event. The role of Horyeong, played by Kim Nam-gil, is a tense character.
He becomes a bestselling author with a novel based on a story told by Moonyoung (played by Yoo Da-in), who attends classes at a cultural center. One day, the police inform him that Seok-tae has died exactly as described in his novel.
To protect his novel and his reputation, Horyeong sets out to find the missing Moonyoung. He sharply confronts Min-tae, who is chasing the truth about the night of Seok-tae’s death. The stills capture Horyeong’s inscrutable expression.
What connection does his novel have with Seok-tae’s death? Kim Nam-gil explains about Horyeong, “He’s not a character who straightforwardly expresses emotions among people agitated by Seok-tae’s death,” adding, “Driven by responsibility for having someone’s death written in his novel, he seeks the truth.”
He plans to amplify the mystery and trigger tension. He also adds, “Following Horyeong, who seems to observe the events among dynamic characters, will be another layer of enjoyment in watching the film.” Meanwhile, ‘Broken’ is set to be released in theaters on the 5th of next month.
