Actor Park Seo-joon is making his return with a romantic comedy. He is set to play an entertainment reporter. On the 6th, the JTBC new drama 'Waiting for Kyung-do' (written by Yoo Young-ah, directed by Im Hyun-wook) announced its casting news. Park Seo-joon will showcase a variety of romantic comedies ranging from puppy love to mature love.
'Waiting for Kyung-do' tells the story of Kyung-do Lee and Ji-woo Seo, who dated at ages twenty and twenty-eight and then broke up. The two reunite as a reporter who covered an infidelity scandal and the wife of the scandal's protagonist.
Director Im Hyun-wook, known for 'Kingdom' and 'Reflection of You', will direct the series. Screenwriter Yoo Young-ah, known for the film 'On Your Wedding Day' and dramas 'Thirty-Nine' and 'Sacred Divorce', is penning the script.
Park Seo-joon will play the role of Kyung-do Lee, an entertainment reporter for Dongwoon Daily. He breaks the news of his first love's husband's infidelity scandal and encounters his ex-girlfriend, Ji-woo Seo.
This marks a reunion with JTBC after five years since 'Itaewon Class'. The production team stated, "It portrays the intense and messy love story of a man. It will offer empathy and immersion."
The role of Ji-woo Seo has not been announced yet. Won Ji-an is a strong candidate, having shown her presence by appearing as Sae-byeok in Netflix's 'Squid Game 2'.
