Actress Park Gyu-young appeared in the Netflix series 'Squid Game Season 2' (directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk). 'Squid Game Season 2' (hereafter referred to as 'Squid Game 2') was released on December 26 of last year. Park Gyu-young joined the cast as a new character, No-eul, a defector from North Korea and former soldier.

No-eul works as a mascot at an amusement park. She struggles to find her daughter who was left behind in the North but hits a wall. Eventually, she receives a card from the game's organizers.

There was a shocking twist: she participates not as a contestant but as a staff member, wearing a pink guard's uniform instead of the green tracksuit.

Park Gyu-young explained, "No-eul cannot live with the guilt of leaving her child in the North, but she continues to live with the small hope of finding her child."

Her reason for participating in the game was different. "She believes she needs to let people without hope, like herself, go peacefully without suffering," she added.

With the appearance of No-eul, viewers were able to see the game not only from the participants' perspective but also from the staff's, further expanding the world of 'Squid Game.'

Meanwhile, 'Squid Game 2' features the story of Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) re-entering the game to face off against the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun), and it achieved record-breaking viewership.
