Amid the large-scale human tragedy, she boarded a plane for three consecutive days. She wrote her personal reflection, "Everything about flying and landing was a matter of luck."
She made comments that could be interpreted in various ways. She added, "Everything was something to be grateful for. The more I think about it, the more even inhaling and exhaling can be heartbreaking."
Online, there was some criticism of her post. One netizen pointed out, "Mentioning 'luck' in a disaster situation seems to lack empathy."
Another netizen lamented, "Why would someone want to write such a post at this time? There's no need to reveal they find relief in others' misfortunes."
On the morning of the 29th, Jeju Air flight 7C2216 had an accident at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province. It collided with airport facilities during a belly landing. Most of the aircraft was consumed by fire.
Out of the 181 people on the flight, 179 died, excluding two crew members. This incident resulted in the highest number of fatalities in a domestic aviation accident.
Authorities have recovered all the victims' bodies. They are in the process of identifying them by comparing with family members' DNA. Funerals will be arranged after further discussions.
