The movie 'Mickey17' (directed by Bong Joon-ho) has moved its release date up by a month. Warner Bros. Korea announced on the 27th that "due to positive reactions and reviews from test screenings, the release date for 'Mickey 17' will be moved up to March 7."

Previously, 'Mickey17' was scheduled for a North American release on April 18 of next year, aiming to capitalize on the Easter peak season. It was planned to open in one of the hottest theater markets in North America, along with Christmas.

However, the release date has been changed to March, during the start of the four-week spring break season in North America. This is also the same period when Warner Bros.' top-grossing film 'Dune: Part 2' opened in 2024 and their 2022 hit 'The Batman' was released.

A Warner Bros. representative stated, "It's also a season when we can secure IMAX screens for a longer period," adding, "Confidence also came from the high scores in test screenings conducted with general audiences."

Since the release of 'Mickey17's trailer, global fans have shown great anticipation. What about the release in Korea? The representative said, "We are coordinating so that the Korean release will be the world's first, ahead of North America."

'Mickey17' is a science fiction genre film. The character 'Mickey' is expendable, deployed into dangerous situations, and reprinted if he dies. The unpredictable story unfolds when 'Mickey 18' is printed as Mickey faces his 17th death crisis.

The movie will be released in Korea as a world premiere next March.
