As expected, he was indeed the son of KBS. Trot singer Lee Chan-won won the KBS Entertainment Awards, surpassing Yoo Jae-suk and Jeon Hyun-moo.

The '2024 KBS Entertainment Awards' were held on the 21st at the KBS New Building Open Hall in Yeouido. Singer and actor Lee Joon, singer Lee Chan-won, and rapper Lee Young-ji hosted the event.

Unsurprisingly, the main character was Lee Chan-won. This year, he worked hard on shows such as 'Immortal Songs', 'New Release Pyeonstorang', 'Chuseok Special Lee Chan-won's Gift', 'Celebrity Soldier's Secret', and 'High-End Water Strider'.

Lee Chan-won was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn't speak. "I really didn't expect to win the grand prize. I will speak sincerely as thoughts come to mind," he started.

He continued, "16 years ago, in 2008, I first set foot in KBS through 'National Singing Contest'. I officially debuted in 2020 and have done many programs on KBS."

Lee Chan-won shared, "Recently, I heard people say, 'Why does a singer focus on broadcasting so much instead of music?' I've loved broadcasting and entertainment since I was young. I don't think I'll ever give up the path of a broadcaster and entertainer."

He also expressed gratitude to KBS. "KBS gave birth to me, raised me, and awarded me such an honorable prize. Although I'm not married yet, it's like my home," he said.

Finally, he pledged, "I believe I've grown a lot through entertainment. I will show more development through KBS. I will deliver wholesome and healthy laughter."

Lee Chan-won also took home the 'Entertainer of the Year' trophy, winning alongside Yoo Jae-suk (SyncroYu), Ryu Soo-young (Pyeonstorang), Jeon Hyun-moo (Boss in the Mirror), and Kim Jong-min (2 Days & 1 Night).
