A fire broke out on the set of the Netflix drama 'Donggung.' No casualties were reported, but the set was completely destroyed.
According to fire authorities, a fire occurred at 2:08 a.m. on the 21st at the 'Donggung' set located in Misan-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province. Response level 1 was initiated, and the fire was extinguished in two hours.
There were no people on the set, so there are no injuries. However, the entire 3,655㎡ set building was burned down. Lighting equipment and other materials stored inside were lost.
'Donggung' is an occult drama. It tells the story of Koo Cheon, a person with the ability to travel between the world of spirits, and Saenggang, a court lady harboring a secret, who are summoned by the king to uncover the curse that haunts Donggung.
The cast of 'Donggung' was announced on the 12th. Jo Seung-woo, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Noh Yoon-seo are appearing. The broadcast date is yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, the police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
