Actor Lee Sung-min will showcase his charisma as he takes on the role of Taejo Lee Seong-gye. The tvN original drama “Wonkyung” (written by Lee Young-mi, directed by Kim Sang-ho) released stills of Lee Sung-min on the 13th, hinting at his intense method acting. “Wonkyung” tells the story of Queen Wonkyung, who seized power alongside her husband, King Taejong Lee Bang-won.
It focuses on the intense story between the king, queen, husband, and wife. Lee Sung-min makes a special appearance as Taejo Lee Seong-gye, who founded Joseon, due to his strong connection with director Kim Sang-ho and writer Lee Young-mi from their work on tvN’s “Money Game.”
Lee Seong-gye is the father of Lee Bang-won (played by Lee Hyun-wook) and the father-in-law of Queen Wonkyung (played by Cha Joo-young). He stands against his son over royal authority and recognizes the capacity of his daughter-in-law. The released stills reveal Lee Sung-min’s exceptional acting skills, exuding a powerful aura with just his presence and showing absolute power that overwhelms with a single glance.

“Wonkyung” will be pre-released on TVING with episodes 1 and 2 on the 6th of next month at 2 PM and will air episode 1 on tvN at 8:50 PM. A prequel series covering the backstory of the drama will also be released later.
