The movie “Big Family” (directed by Yang Woo-seok) is gaining popularity among audiences.

“Big Family” was released on the 11th and received rave reviews from viewers in just one day. On the 12th, it recorded a 96% score on CGV’s Golden Egg Index.

It ranked first in audience ratings for Korean films. It is praised for delivering both fun and emotion, prompting questions about “family” and resonating with viewers.

Particularly noteworthy is the on-screen chemistry between Kim Yoon-seok and Lee Seung-gi as a bickering father and son. Their storyline drives the plot, humorously portraying their transformation from coldness to warmth. The child actors add vitality with their detailed performances.

“Big Family” is a family comedy about the owner of a famous dumpling restaurant “Pyeongmanok” (played by Kim Yoon-seok) whose son (played by Lee Seung-gi) becomes a monk, leaving the family line at risk. The story unfolds as grandchildren enter his life, leading to a shared living arrangement.

It is currently showing great box office performance alongside the movie “Firefighter.” According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network, “Firefighter” was number one at the box office on the 11th, with “Big Family” following in second place.
