The effects of actors Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won continue. The drama they starred in has won awards at a prestigious Asian award ceremony.
The '2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards' (AACA) took place on the 4th in Singapore. tvN's 'Queen of Tears' took home the award for Best Direction.
AACA is the largest content award ceremony in Asia. It is held annually in December as part of the Singapore Media Festival, judging works from 17 countries for awards.
'Queen of Tears' was previously nominated for two categories at the '2024 AACA.' Besides Best Direction, it was nominated for Best Screenplay, increasing its chances of winning.
The drama swept the two major Asian award ceremonies. 'Queen of Tears' received the Best Screenplay award at the '29th ATA' held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 30th of last month.
Studio Dragon stated, "It was a meaningful occasion to reaffirm the competitiveness of K-dramas," and added, "We will continue to present well-made works in the future."
Meanwhile, 'Queen of Tears' is a romantic drama about a married couple. It tells the story of a love rekindled between a third-generation chaebol and the son of a village chief. The final episode achieved a viewership rating of 24.9%, setting a record as the highest in tvN's history.
