‘Lucy’ member Choi Sang-yeop has been embroiled in allegations of misogyny. He apologized after the controversy arose. On the 4th, Choi Sang-yeop bowed his head on the fandom platform Bubble, saying, “I apologize for causing concern to many who supported me with my careless word choice.”

However, he stated that it was a misunderstanding. He wrote, “There is absolutely no other meaning or intention implied. However, I deeply reflect on the careless parts. I will be more careful.” He conveyed his apology once again: “I will act more cautiously in the future,” and added, “I sincerely apologize once again to everyone who has supported me.”

Recently, Choi Sang-yeop had conversations with several fans on Bubble. When a fan asked him to name a Polaroid camera, he responded with “Paper Wrapper.” He further explained when asked, “What is ‘Paper Wrapper’?” by saying, “When you take a picture with a Polaroid camera, paper comes out.”

There were claims from some quarters that this conversation constituted misogynistic remarks. As criticism continued among fans, he eventually posted an apology. Meanwhile, Choi Sang-yeop is the main vocalist of Lucy. On the 1st, he released ‘She Smiles,’ part two of the ‘Lovesum Project.’
