V, ‘Winter Ahead’ Melts the World… No. 1 ‘Top Song’ in 75 Regions on iTunes

BTS’s V has captivated music fans around the world with winter jazz. On the 29th, V released the digital single “Winter Ahead.” By 6 a.m. on the 30th, it had reached number one on the iTunes ‘Top Song’ chart in 75 countries and regions, including the UK, Germany, France, Japan, and Canada.

“Winter Ahead” topped both the ‘Worldwide iTunes Song’ and ‘European iTunes Song’ charts upon its release, proving its unwavering global popularity. The track is of the jazz pop genre, featuring support from vocalist Park Hyo-shin. The two artists collaborated on the melody. The lyrics were penned by Jesse Harris, the lyricist behind Norah Jones’s famous jazz song ‘Don’t Know Why.’

The song showcases the warm and delicate vocals of V and Park Hyo-shin, with jazzy saxophone, trumpet, and prepared piano (a piano with objects placed inside to alter its sound) performances adding to the cozy atmosphere.

The music video has also been well-received, ranking first in YouTube’s ‘Music Video Trending Worldwide.’ The beautiful visuals and storyline make it a must-see.
