BTS’s V and Park Hyo Shin present a luxury harmony. V will release the digital single “Winter Ahead” (with PARK HYO SHIN) and its music video on global music sites at 2 PM on the 29th.
“Winter Ahead” is a jazz-pop duet track. V personally proposed the song collaboration to Park Hyo Shin, expressing a heartfelt wish for a warm winter this year. It reflects V’s love for jazz. Big Hit Music explains, “The combination of saxophone, trumpet, and prepared piano performance creates a cozy atmosphere.”
The romantic lyrics are also a highlight. Lyrics like, “There’s a winter ahead Whether it’s cold and wet / We’re always warm in paradise,” add to its charm. V and Park Hyo Shin have created an exceptional vocal chemistry, their gentle voices creating excitement. Their appealing low to mid-range vocals blend perfectly with the romantic lyrics.
A representative stated, “V and Park Hyo Shin are recognized as top artists in their respective genres. The duet song is special as it was a new challenge.”
Park Hyo Shin shared his experience working on the project. “As fans of jazz, we’ve often talked about collaborating on something fun whenever we had the chance,” he commented. He recalled, “When the conversation about seriously working together with V came up one day, I thought it would be a fascinating project.”
He added, “It was cautious yet fun to challenge a genre different from our main styles. We’re happy to release our song this winter.” Park Hyo Shin noted, “I enjoyed sharing music with V over a glass of wine. Those memories inspired the melody for the song.” He expressed satisfaction, saying, “Humming a melody over the track V had was the start. Through repeated collaboration with V, we completed the song.”
He concluded, “I hope people enjoy the warm melody, our voices, and the harmony with the lyrics by Jessi Harris, which fits well with winter.”
Listeners’ reactions are enthusiastic. Every year-end, V has released melodious tracks, such as “Snow Flower”, “Christmas Tree”, and “Wherever You Are”. His agency stated, “V’s warm visuals and timbre, which can make you forget the cold, are outstanding,” adding, “The collaboration with the premium vocalist Park Hyo Shin is also highly polished.”
The “Winter Ahead” music video can be seen on the official channel and Shinsegae Square. On the 30th, at 2 PM, the Cinematic Still Version of the music video featuring V and Park Hyo Shin will also be released.
