Sleepy, New Addition to ‘Hip Hop’ OST… “Remember the Legendary Dance Comic?”

Rapper Sleepy is returning to his main career. He will be part of the 20th-anniversary OST for the million-seller comic ‘Hip Hop’ by Kim Soo-yong. Sleepy will release his new song ‘Check’ on the 29th at 6 PM through various online music sites. ‘Check’ will be featured in ‘Hip Hop’ OST Part.13.

‘Hip Hop’ is the first-ever dance comic in Korea, known for its dynamic dance battle scenes and explanations of various techniques, contributing to organizing the names of techniques that varied by region. This commemorative album was created over the past two years, with contributions from artists such as Beopfard, Foi, BXB, Jeong Sang-soo, Lil Jae Woo, Bruno Champman, More, Jimmy Brown, Lil Jun X Z.zika, Way Up GG, 909, Vanilaear, Lil Thunder 11, and Woodie Gochild.

The new song ‘Check’ is based on the old school and boom bap genres, which were popular in the 1990s to early 2000s when the comic was serialized. Sleepy’s sensual voice enhances the emotion, and he participated in the lyrics to add authenticity. Sleepy said, “I was drawn to hip hop after reading the ‘Hip Hop’ comic as a child, leading me to start making music.

I’ve tried to capture that period’s stories and dedicate this song to the pioneers of Korean hip hop.” Meanwhile, this commemorative album will be introduced every Friday at 6 PM. It includes various genres such as hip hop, rock, and R&B. Many artists contribute to reminiscing about that era.

The album’s pre-order will be available from December 2nd on the official ‘Naturally Music’ website. At the end of December, the first-ever kit album format smart comic book ‘Kit Page’ will be released.
