Stray Kids has been nominated for the ‘Billboard Music Awards’ (hereafter ‘BBMAs’) for the second consecutive year.
According to the BBMAs, Stray Kids has been selected as a nominee for Top Duo/Group, Top K-Pop Album, and Top Global K-Pop Artist. In the K-Pop Album category, their mini-albums ‘樂-STAR’ (‘Rockstar’) and ‘ATE’ have been nominated.
Stray Kids is the only K-Pop artist this year to have two albums nominated. In the Top Duo/Group category, they joined the ranks alongside global artists like Blink-182, Coldplay, Fuerza Regida, and Linkin Park.
Last year, they were nominated for Top K-Pop Album and Top Global K-Pop Artist at the same awards. This year, they added the Top Duo/Group nomination, proving their powerful influence for two consecutive years.
At the ‘2023 BBMAs’, they won the Top K-Pop Album trophy with ‘5-STAR’. This marks the first such achievement by a 4th-generation boy group and the second among boy groups in history. Stray Kids had previously achieved five consecutive No. 1s on the ‘Billboard 200’ with albums like ‘Oddinary’ (2022), ‘Maxident’ (2022), ‘5-STAR’ (2023), ‘Rockstar’ (2023), and ‘ATE’ (2024).
They also performed well on the ‘Hot 100’, becoming the first 4th-generation boy group to enter the chart with ‘樂’ (‘Rock’, 2023), and succeeded in ranking for the third time with ‘Lose My Breath’ (feat. Charlie Puth) and ‘Chik Chik Boom’ (2024).
Stray Kids continues their streak of award wins and nominations. In February, they won titles at the ‘2024 People’s Choice Awards’ and in April at the ‘2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards’. At the ’67th Grammy Awards’, the soundtrack album for the movie ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, featuring Stray Kids’ ‘Slash’, has been nominated for ‘Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media’.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids will release ‘SKZHOP HIPTAPE’ ‘HOP’ and its title track ‘Walkin On Water’ on the 13th of next month at 2 PM (midnight U.S. Eastern time).
