Actors Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin demonstrate exceptional synergy.
On the 20th, tvN revealed the casting lineup for the new weekend drama 'Ask the Stars' (written by Seo Sook-hyang and directed by Park Shin-woo). The drama will star Lee Min-ho, Gong Hyo-jin, Oh Jung-se, among others.
'Ask the Stars' is a space office drama. It follows the extraterrestrial life of a boss (played by Gong Hyo-jin) working in a zero-gravity space station and an uninvited guest, Gong Ryong (played by Lee Min-ho).
First, Lee Min-ho plays the role of Gong Ryong, an obstetrician. Gong Ryong is the future son-in-law of Korea's top conglomerate, the MZ Group. He stays at a space station as a space tourist.
He is a somewhat suspicious character. He heads to space with a secret mission he can't tell anyone. Curiosity is piqued about the mission he must accomplish.
Gong Hyo-jin takes on the role of Commander Eve Kim, who guards the space station. She is an accomplished space scientist. She has arrived in space after receiving her first mission as a commander.
As a thorough disciplinarian and perfectionist, she focuses on completing her mission safely. In the perilous space, she doesn’t tolerate any mistakes.
Oh Jung-se plays the role of Kang Kang-soo, a scientist researching fruit flies. As part of a financial company owner family, he has lived a leisurely life. Suddenly, he ventures into space, enjoying a dangerous escapade.
Additionally, Han Ji-eun plays Gong Ryong's lover, Choi Ko-eun. Kim Joo-heon plays the veteran astronaut Park Dong-ah. Lee El becomes Chief Kang at the MCC ground control center.
Lee Cho-hee takes on the challenge of playing dual roles. She will portray the twin sisters, Mina Lee and Dona Lee, who have opposite personalities. Heo Nam-jun appears as space scientist Lee Seung-jun.
The production team is also impressive. Writer Seo Sook-hyang and director Park Shin-woo reunite after 'Jealousy Incarnate,' raising expectations for a special romantic comedy.
Meanwhile, 'Ask the Stars' will premiere on January 4th at 9:20 PM next year.
