Singer Kim Junsu's side has released an additional statement regarding the lawsuit against the female BJ.
On the 15th, Palmtree Island issued their second official statement, clarifying some misunderstandings about the case where AfreecaTV's female BJ, Ms. A, threatened Kim Junsu.
They detailed the background of the police investigation, explaining that they filed the lawsuit proactively to prevent further damage.
As Kim Junsu proceeded with legal action, another criminal act by Ms. A was revealed. During the investigation into extortion under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, a connection to drugs was uncovered.
They reiterated that Kim Junsu has no connection to such illegal activities, stating they learned of these facts through the media coverage of the incident.
The recording file used by Ms. A as a means of threat was also mentioned, described as merely a personal conversation with no content liable to be misinterpreted.
They emphasized once again that they are the victims of prolonged extortion and threats, expressing concern over being unfairly drawn into controversy due to being a public figure.
Despite gathering courage with difficulty, the essence of the incident has been distorted. They expressed their unspeakable feelings, requesting the end of second-hand harm.
They stated they would respond firmly to the spreading of false information and other issues, reviewing all legal options to protect the honor and rights of their artist.
Finally, Kim Junsu's side reiterated their firm stance, promising no compromise in dealing with this incident.
The Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency applied for an arrest warrant for Ms. A on the 13th. She is accused of extorting 840 million won from Kim Junsu over the past five years.
It is known that recordings of private conversations were used as a means of threat, exploiting the other party's fame by threatening to distribute the recordings on social media in exchange for money and valuables.
Amid reports of Ms. A currently being on trial for a drug-related case, inaccurate rumors have spread. However, this is a separate case not related to Kim Junsu's extortion incident.
