Singer Lee Seok-hoon will rejoin the musical ‘The Man Who Laughs.’ C9 Entertainment announced on the 15th, “Lee Seok-hoon will join the musical ‘The Man Who Laughs,’ which opens on January 9th next year. He has been cast in the role of Gwynplaine.”

‘The Man Who Laughs’ is based on the novel of the same name by French author Victor Hugo. It depicts the severe class discrimination of 17th century England. Returning for its fourth season since its debut in 2018, Lee Seok-hoon decided to rejoin five years after his previous performance, taking on the role of the young Gwynplaine.

Gwynplaine, his character, is a clown in a traveling troupe. Despite his grotesquely torn mouth, he is a character with a pure heart. The agency stated, “After finishing ‘Kinky Boots,’ Lee Seok-hoon will continue his active engagement. He is expected to build a trusted filmography as a musical actor.”

Meanwhile, ‘The Man Who Laughs’ will be held at the Opera Theater of the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, starting January 9th next year.
