Actor Hwang Jung-min received the Film Artist Award. On the 24th, he enjoyed the joy of winning at the '14th Beautiful Artist Awards' held in Seoul.
He began by saying, "I introduce myself to people as a clown. When I say I'm an artist, people might say, 'What kind of artist are you, you entertainer,' so I call myself a clown."
He added, "Receiving this award allows me to proudly call myself an artist. It gave me the courage to live an artist's life, making it more meaningful than any other award."
He expressed gratitude toward director Im Kwon-taek, who directed his debut work 'The General's Son.' "Seeing your face today, I just want to say thank you," he said.
Hwang Jung-min also said, "I think my wife will like this award more than any other, because of the prize money," and promised, "I'll make sure to spend it well by not letting her buy a bag."
The Good People Award went to actress Shin Min-a, recognized for her consistent good deeds. Shin Min-a expressed her feelings, saying, "I felt the weight of the [Good People] Award."
She reflected on the meaning of the award, saying, "I will donate today's precious prize money to those waiting for help in difficult circumstances," indicating her intent to share.
Additionally, director Son Jin-chek received the Theater Artist Award, Kim Dong-ho, the founding executive chairman of the Busan International Film Festival, received the Contribution Artist Award, and director Kim Deok-young received the Independent Film Award.
Meanwhile, the Beautiful Artist Awards is an annual event organized by the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Cultural Foundation, awarding trophies and a total prize money of 100 million won to artists in five categories.
