
‘Former T-ara’ member Jiyeon met with her Chinese fans, marking her first official schedule following the announcement of her divorce from Hwang Jae-gyun of ‘KT Wiz’. Jiyeon attended a fan meeting held on the 7th (Korea time) at the Macau Broadway to celebrate T-ara’s 15th debut anniversary, joining Eunjung, Qri, and Hyomin on stage.
Her professional demeanor stood out as Jiyeon, along with the members, performed T-ara’s hit songs like ‘Sexy Love’ and ‘Roly-poly’. She was actively engaged in communicating with fans. A video presumed to be taken at the event was uploaded on Weibo, capturing Jiyeon responding in Chinese to fans’ questions.
One fan said, “Congratulations on T-ara’s 15th anniversary. Our youth is never-ending.” Another fan expressed affection by saying, “T-ara is everything to my youth.”
On the 5th, Jiyeon’s side announced they were undergoing divorce mediation with Hwang Jae-gyun. Legal representative Choi Yoon-ah stated, “We have filed an application for divorce mediation at the Seoul Family Court.” Hwang Jae-gyun’s side also mentioned, “We intend to conclude the process amicably through mediation. Though the marital relationship has ended, we will continue to support each other’s paths ahead.”
The couple married in December 2022, after dating for six months, but couldn’t overcome personality differences. They are undergoing divorce proceedings following a separation.
Meanwhile, Jiyeon debuted as a member of T-ara in 2009 and has released several hit songs such as ‘Sexy Love’, ‘Roly-poly’, and ‘Crazy Because of You’. She has also acted in productions such as ‘Dream High 2’. Hwang Jae-gyun is an infielder for KT Wiz and has previously played for Hyundai Unicorns, Nexen Heroes, and Lotte Giants. He is currently in the KBO postseason playoff games.
