Actor Go Kyung-pyo teams up with Ryu Seung-ryong for some laughs, playing the role of a young “kkondae” (old-fashioned person). On the 4th, the distributor Barunson E&A announced, “Go Kyung-pyo will appear as Director Choi in ‘Amazon Hwalmyungsoo.’ It promises to hit the theaters with laughter this fall.”
‘Amazon Hwalmyungsoo’ is a comic action film. It tells the story of former national archery representative Jin-bong (played by Ryu Seung-ryong) meeting Korean interpreter Bang-sik (played by Jin Seon-kyu) and three Amazon warriors.
Go Kyung-pyo plays Director Choi, an executive in Jin-bong’s company and the chairman’s son. He sees Jin-bong, whose work attitude and performance are both poor, as a target for restructuring and continually annoys him.
He is also keenly interested in gold mining ventures. Knowing that the top cultivation sport in the goldmine development area of Bolle-dor is archery, he sends Jin-bong to the remotest parts of the Amazon.
Ryu Seung-ryong praised Go Kyung-pyo, saying, “I was surprised after watching ‘6/45.’ In ‘Amazon Hwalmyungsoo,’ he plays the role of Director Choi, delivering an infuriating yet comedic performance.”
An associate also remarked, “Director Choi is a character that adds class to the outburst of laughter. Please look forward to how Go Kyung-pyo will portray Director Choi in the film.”
Meanwhile, ‘Amazon Hwalmyungsoo’ is set to be released on the 30th.
