Chef Jung Ji-seon Clarifies Cleanup After 'Black and White Chef'

Jung Ji-seon explained the behind-the-scenes cleanup of Netflix's 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' (hereafter 'Black and White Chef') in a video posted on her official YouTube channel on the 30th of last month.

She faced off against chef Jungshik Goddess, with the mission theme being dishes using dried radish greens. She presented a Chinese-style dessert, dried radish baths.

It was reminiscent of sugar crafting. Jung Ji-seon began making sugar threads on the cooking counter, placing simmered sugar in a tray, flipping it upside down, and shaking it.

Some netizens took issue with this scene, speculating that the leftover sugar would be difficult to clean. Concerns were also raised about the production crew having to clean the set.

When asked, "Who cleaned that up?" Jung Ji-seon responded, "I cleaned it up. I had time after finishing the cooking. Once it hardens, breaking it is the end."

She added, "There's no need to dissolve it in the sink. If it hardens on the floor, you can just tap it, and it breaks apart." She emphasized to the camera, "I cleaned it up myself."

Meanwhile, 'Black and White Chef' has become a hit, ranking first in the Netflix Global Top 10 Non-English TV section and first in the Good Data Corporation's trending charts.
