Actress Park Shin-hye's transformation has paid off. "Judge from Hell" has risen to the No. 1 spot among Friday-Saturday dramas.
SBS-TV's "Judge from Hell" (written by Jo I-soo, directed by Park Jin-pyo) aired its third episode on the 27th. According to Nielsen Korea, the rating for that day was 8.0% (national average).
It has continued the popularity of its predecessor. "Good Partner," starring Jang Na-ra, ended with a final episode rating of 15.2%. Although still in the single digits, it is a relatively smooth start.
The demon inhabiting the judge's body, Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye), is driving an exciting storyline. She declared damnation for an abuser of children, raising expectations about the fate of the villain.
Especially notable was the shocking ending. Kang Bit-na confronted her stepmother Bae Ja-young (played by Im Se-joo) and said, "Lying makes you a bad adult. Bad adults deserve to be punished," while wielding a knife.
Meanwhile, "Judge from Hell" is an action fantasy drama. A demon who becomes a judge meets an intense detective, and the story follows his transformation into a true legal professional.
