Singer Baekhyun has made a meaningful donation. He donated 50 million won, hoping it would help reclaim our artifacts.
On the 26th of last month, Baekhyun was invited as a member donor to the 50th-anniversary ceremony of the National Museum of Korea Association, held at the Shilla Hotel Yeong Bin Gwan in Jung-gu, Seoul.
In January, he quietly donated 50 million won to the National Museum of Korea Association. This fact was only revealed about nine months later, generating significant attention.
The National Museum of Korea Association is a group that supports museums. It helps with artifact donations, exhibition room improvement projects, academic research, and educational development. Their activities focus on the promotion of traditional culture and other public interest projects.
Baekhyun stated, "I hope the National Museum of Korea, representing Korea, can have an even better exhibition environment," and added, "I have a wish that the artifacts which haven't been repatriated yet will return to their rightful place and resonate fully with many people."
Baekhyun has contributed to the global K-pop phenomenon through his activities with 'EXO'. Representatives from his agency explained, "Baekhyun has always wanted to give back culturally to many people as much as he has received love."
An official added, "After learning about the various significant activities of the National Museum of Korea Association, Baekhyun decided to contribute wholeheartedly."
With this donation, Baekhyun's name was added to the list of 'Gumgwan Members' of the National Museum of Korea Association. He will also be featured in the "Museum People" booklet published by the association in the future.
Meanwhile, on the 6th, Baekhyun recorded 1,096,995 album sales in the first week of his mini 4th album 'Hello, World'. This achievement marks a new personal record in his 13-year career, proving his enduring strength.
