Actors Han Suk-kyu and Chae Won-bin wore inscrutable smiles.
MBC-TV's new Friday-Saturday drama 'This Intimate Betrayer' (written by Han Ah-young and directed by Song Yeon-hwa) released its poster on the 24th, capturing a happy moment between the two.
The mood was completely opposite from the situation in the drama. Taesu (played by Han Suk-kyu) is seen walking on the lawn with his daughter Habin (played by Chae Won-bin). They look at each other and smile brightly.
The image piqued curiosity for the main broadcast. The cheerful scene under the sunlight contrasted sharply with their actual relationship, stirring interest in the tragic story of the father and daughter.
The production team explained, "In the drama, the two characters distrust and hurt each other. While the father-daughter relationship is depicted as fractured, the atmosphere on set is warm."
They added, "The synergy between Han Suk-kyu and newcomer Chae Won-bin will create an unprecedented father-daughter chemistry. We are confident that we can present an excellent work."
'This Intimate Betrayer' is a father-daughter thriller. A profiler investigating a murder case encounters secrets about his daughter, depicting his journey towards the truth.
Han Suk-kyu plays Jang Tae-su, the nation's top profiler, who becomes bewildered upon discovering his daughter's involvement in the case. Chae Won-bin takes on the role of his daughter Habin.
This is writer Han Ah-young's debut work. She received the Excellence Award at the 2021 MBC Drama Contest. Director Song Yeon-hwa, known for crafting intense thrillers, helms the project.
Meanwhile, 'This Intimate Betrayer' will premiere on the 11th of next month.
