A Legend Who Danced the 'Horse Dance' at 91… What About This Year?

Born in 1932, President Lee Kil-ryo, who is now 93 years old, is a vibrant figure often referred to as the "icon of youth." In 2023, at the age of 91, a video of him performing the 'horse dance' at the Gachon University Hanmaeum Festival Water Festival went viral, surpassing 1 million views in just six days and exciting netizens.

In this year's Water Festival video, his clear enunciation, strong gestures, and positivity have led many to respond with "He never ages."

On the 16th, a congratulatory video from the Water Festival featuring President Lee went viral on online communities.

He began his congratulatory message with the affectionate words, "To my beloved children in this world." He then declared, "Today is your day. Enjoy to your heart's content, jump as if the earth will collapse, dance and sing as if the sky will burst," with a powerful voice.

He continued by saying, "Our school excels not only in studying but also in playing. For today, throw away all your books and studies. Let's go, everyone!"

What’s the secret to his youthful appearance? Water, humidifiers, lasers, exercise, and being unmarried.

President Lee's secret to staying youthful is surprisingly simple. He drinks more than 1.5 liters of water a day, prefers tea over coffee, and often keeps humidifiers running around his home. He reportedly doesn’t spend much on cosmetics but has been receiving regular laser treatments at Gil Hospital's dermatology department for over ten years.

Additionally, daily stretching and walking for more than an hour are essential parts of his routine. He said that his "personality that does not easily get stressed" is also a key factor in maintaining his youthful appearance.

In a recent interview, he mentioned, "If I had been married, I would have depended on my husband, and I would have risked everything for my children," noting that being unmarried is another secret to his youth.
