70-Year-Old Husband Attacks Dementia-Stricken Wife with Blunt Object, Arrested on Charges of Attempted Murder

A 70-year-old husband has been arrested by the police for attacking his wife, who is in her 80s and suffering from dementia, with a blunt object.

The Dongdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced on the 20th that they arrested the suspect, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder.

According to police investigations, A is accused of striking his wife, B (in her 80s), twice on the head with a blunt object around 8:40 PM on the 19th in their apartment in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. It is reported that A called the police himself immediately after the incident.

Victim B was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is currently in a stable condition, not in life-threatening danger.
