A stabbing incident occurred near Shin Jung Dong Station in Bucheon.

A woman in her 40s was reported to have been waving a knife in the air, causing a disturbance near Shin Jung Dong Station on the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 7.

On the 20th, the Bucheon Wonmi Police Station stated that they are conducting a preliminary investigation into the individual, referred to as A, on suspicion of possessing a weapon in a public place.

A is alleged to have indiscriminately waved a knife in the air around 5:11 PM on the day of the incident in the vicinity of Shin Jung Dong Station in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon. A was reportedly seen loitering around a large general merchandise store while still in possession of the knife.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries related to this incident so far.

Upon receiving reports from witnesses, the police quickly apprehended A at the scene. During the police investigation, A is said to have been incoherent and unable to provide a clear statement.

Considering A's mental state, the police took emergency hospitalization measures.

Additionally, to determine A’s exact movements and motives for the crime, the police are investigating the incident further by analyzing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from around the area.

A police official stated, "We are currently verifying all of A’s movements through CCTV footage. As this is an ongoing investigation, it is difficult to provide specific answers."
