Incident of Murder of Acquaintance at Apartment in Anseong City

A 40-year-old man, who was drinking with an acquaintance, committed murder after a verbal dispute at an apartment in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.

On the 1st, the Anseong police announced that they are investigating Mr. A on charges of murder.

Mr. A is accused of killing his acquaintance, Mr. B (in his 40s), at his apartment located in Gongdo-eup, Anseong City.

At around 7:43 AM on the same day, police received a report from a neighbor stating that "there's a loud noise coming from Mr. A's home," coincidentally receiving a call from Mr. A himself admitting to his crime.

The police, having responded to the report, arrested Mr. A on the spot at 8:05 AM. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that Mr. B was already deceased.

During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I had a quarrel while drinking with Mr. B." It is still unknown what specific conflict existed between the two and what led to the dispute escalating into murder.

Currently, the police are closely investigating the exact murder weapon, the specific method of killing, and the motive behind the crime.

A representative from Anseong City expressed, "We deeply regret the serious crime that has occurred in the area," and stated, "We will strengthen safety patrols in cooperation with the police to alleviate residents' anxieties."
