The Gimpo Police Station announced on the 11th that they have booked the man, referred to as A, on charges of violating the Fire Services Act and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act without detaining him.

During the police investigation, A confessed, "I drove after drinking." He stated, "I have debts and had previously fought with someone over a vehicle noise issue, so when I saw someone chasing me, I was scared and left my car in front of the 119 Safety Center."

It was revealed that the vehicle chasing A was a YouTuber tracking the suspected drunk driving. The YouTuber reported to 112, saying, "A person who appeared to be drunk parked and disappeared as if blocking a fire truck."

Investigation ongoing for obstruction of firefighting and drunk driving allegations

A is accused of illegally parking his vehicle in front of the Yangchon 119 Safety Center in Gimpo at around 11:13 PM on the 7th, thereby obstructing the emergency response of the firefighting authorities.

The vehicle was towed by a tow truck at around 2:52 AM on the 8th, after being left for 3 hours and 39 minutes. It has been determined that during this time, the fire station received two calls related to emergency medical services and a fire, causing inconvenience for their response.

The police are currently planning to ascertain A’s blood alcohol concentration using the 'Widmark Formula.'

The Widmark Formula calculates the blood alcohol concentration at the time of driving based on the type and amount of alcohol consumed and body weight after a certain period has passed since drunk driving.

A police official stated, "We have completed the initial investigation of A. It will take some time to obtain A's blood alcohol concentration results."
