30s Woman Murdered in Yongin Officetel Underground Parking Lot, Suspect on the Run… “Indications of Attempted Concealment”

Residents in shock… Police "Tracking the escape route"

A woman in her 30s was stabbed to death in a basement parking lot of an officetel in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

According to police and other sources on the 21st, a report was received at 5:45 AM stating that "a woman is collapsed." Fire authorities, who arrived at the scene, confirmed that the woman, identified as A (in her 30s), was already deceased.

Upon reviewing nearby closed-circuit (CC) TV footage, police discovered that a man known to the victim, B (in his 30s), stabbed A with a weapon in the basement parking lot during the early hours and then fled in a vehicle. It is reported that the two were involved in a dispute just before the attack.

Signs of the victim's struggle extend over multiple floors…"It could be evidence of an attempt to drag her away."

In relation to this, Gyeongin Ilbo reported, “The victim’s bloodstains extend from the presumed scene of the incident on the B3 floor to the corridor leading to the B4 floor where vehicles go down.”

While there is a possibility that the victim moved after being attacked, there are also observations suggesting that the suspect may have attempted to drag the body to dispose of it.

Police are focusing on the possibility of this being a planned crime, given that suspect B had prepared the weapon and the vehicle in advance for the attack.

Currently, they are tracking the escape route of the suspect, who is reported to have fled towards the vicinity of Gangwon Province, and are making every effort to apprehend him.
