'The Largest Apartment Complex Since Dangun' Cracks Found… What Happened 7 Months After Move-In?
Cracks have been discovered in the walls of 'Olympic Park Foreon' located in Duncheon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, sparking controversy over poor construction.
This apartment complex, which gained attention with the title of 'the largest apartment complex since Dangun,' began welcoming residents in November last year.
However, just 7 months after move-in, concerns over poor construction have arisen, leading to plans for a detailed safety inspection and a full investigation.

According to Gangdong-gu Office on the 28th, the district and the construction company Hyundai Engineering & Construction discussed measures regarding the cracks that have recently occurred in the Olympic Park Foreon complex.
Previously, horizontal cracks were found on the retro wall of the 34th floor of Complex 3, prompting the residents' representative committee to send an official request for a structural safety inspection to Hyundai Engineering.
The residents' committee raised the possibility that there might be defects in the structure itself, given that the cracks appeared to extend horizontally.
Recent photos circulating on social media show a deep, long crack on the wall of the corridor of the 34th floor apartment in Complex 3.
As this photo spread rapidly online, residents' anxiety has increased.
Some residents expressed their concerns, stating, "I'm worried that the house might collapse."

Construction Company: "Cracks Occurred During Concrete Pouring Process"… Full Investigation Underway
Hyundai Engineering announced that they have launched a full investigation into the cracks starting on the 28th and are in discussions with Gangdong-gu Office and the residents' representative committee regarding the scope and methods of the safety inspection.
A representative from Hyundai Engineering explained, "The cracks appear to have occurred at the construction joint during the process of pouring concrete" and added, "We are discussing the scope and methods of the safety inspection in consultation with Gangdong-gu Office and the residents' representative committee, and we will proceed with the necessary detailed safety inspection."
Gangdong-gu has requested a full investigation regarding the cracks from all construction companies involved in the joint construction, including Hyundai Engineering, HDC Hyundai Development, Daewoo Construction, and Lotte Construction.
Additionally, there are plans to organize a meeting to discuss repair and inspection measures with a structural safety inspection professional organization, Hyundai Engineering, and Gangdong-gu Office.

A Popular Complex Dubbed 'Lotto Subscription'… 220,000 Applicants for Non-Competitive Subscription
Meanwhile, Olympic Park Foreon is a complex that was created by the reconstruction of Duncheon Jugong Apartment and was completed in November last year.
It is considered one of the largest apartment complexes in the country, with a total of over 12,000 units.
Notably, in the recent non-competitive subscription, there were about 220,000 applicants for just 4 units, resulting in an average competition rate of an astounding 56,000 to 1.
The reason for such high popularity is that the sale prices were significantly lower than the surrounding market prices.
The sale price for a standard area of 84㎡ is about 1.2 billion won, approximately 1 billion won cheaper than the surrounding market price, earning it the nickname 'lotto subscription.'
